We are proud to announce that Anna Muessig and Liselott Stenfeldt are joining the Gehl’s Partner Group. Their combined expertise in urban solutions and research innovation will continue to shape the company’s direction, with a focus on creating more inclusive, people-centered cities. Here are their reflections on this milestone.
“In a moment when the US needs to build millions more homes, decrease social isolation and polarization, reconnect our downtown cores, increase economic opportunity for tens of millions of people in poverty, decarbonize our transportation sector, and prepare for a warmer and more volatile climate, technical tools alone won’t make the change we need in cities. We need culture change and urban strategies that give people a better way to live together, to consume, and to move in our cities and urban areas. It’s my honor to serve this purpose and to have a platform at Gehl to address these wide ranging issues, building on the incredible legacy and toolset developed by my colleagues and predecessors over many years. Thank you to all of my fantastic collaborators and clients over the last 10 years and counting. I am looking forward to building on that work and making change in the next precious decades. There is so much opportunity and important work to do.”
Anna Muessig, Team Director US Cities, Partner
“I’m thrilled and honored to announce that I have joined the Gehl Partner group. Over the years in my role as Director of Research & Development, I have had the pleasure to work with a great multidisciplinary team to push development of new tools and methods to better understand people’s lived experience in the cities. Harnessing the potential of digitalization is for me not a technical issue alone, but also a social one. To enhance citizens’ well-being we need to put citizens’ needs in front. And we need to focus on softer technology prioritizing flexibility, adaptability, and people-first approaches. Through this, I believe we can help create spaces that are not only functional but also deeply connected to the human experience. Looking forward to being part of the journey moving ahead!”
Liselott Stenfeldt, Director of Research & Development, Partner
“Both Anna and Liselott have played pivotal roles in shaping our work, culture, and service over the past decade. As Director of Gehl’s Cities Team, Anna has been at the forefront of bringing urban solutions to our U.S. clients, bridging equity gaps, strengthening communities, while addressing the climate crisis. Anna joining the Partner Group marks Gehl’s 10th year anniversary since the opening of our US offices.
Meanwhile, Liselott has advanced Gehl’s urban research tools through her expertise in digital innovation, making them more accessible to communities, organizations, and clients, and ensuring that social needs and human stories are at the heart of urban planning. Liselott’s leadership is taking R&D to the next level as an accelerator for our business moving forward.
Their promotion to partners reflects our commitment to meaningful change, and we are proud to have them continue shaping Gehl’s future with their dedication and expertise. With an equal gender split in Gehl’s Partner Group, we will continue to promote equality at all levels in Gehl. Thank you both for your unwavering passion and trust in Gehl.”
