Ewa is a partner and director at Gehl in Copenhagen and brings more than twenty years of international architecture and urban design expertise to the practice. The core of her work is making cities for people, focusing on public space and public life as vital keys to solving global challenges and increasing people’s quality of life. Ewa has been key to some major city transformation projects around the world including the transformation of Broadway and Times Square from being dominated by cars to places for people; the development of the post-earthquake recovery plan for Christchurch, New Zealand; and responsible for several master plans and regeneration strategies for cities in Scandinavia. Ewa creates a positive impact through leading co-creative processes with clients, stakeholders, institutions, and citizens to transform cities into more healthy, social, and equitable places for people. Ewa is a seasoned and compelling lecturer and has extensive experience with capacity building, engagement, and facilitation.
